Title: Zero Emission Retrofitting Method for Existing Textile plants (ZERMET)

In the textile industry, all sorts of natural and synthetic raw materials are processed to garn and other products. The greatest environmental problem is the amount of waste water and its chemical pollution. Additional pollution results from high energy consumption, exhaust emissions and solid waste. ZERMET is an approach that seeks to minimize the use of water, chemicals and energy in the textile industry. The potential for improvement is defined and solutions are devised that come as close as possible to the ideal. The engine behind this project involves companies with a real desire to increase their resource efficiency. The project will be realized by 2010 by Stenum GmbH. After a successful project phase, ZERMET will be introduced onto the market as a package of services.
