Title: Merging of two waterworks in Austria’s Burgenland
The water supply system encompasses a connecting line between the Lockenhaus Waterworks (WAVL) and the Waterworks Alliance of Central Burgenland (WVMB). Other aspects include a modern wireless remote control system for WAVL for process control and the required state-of-the-art low-voltage and medium-voltage systems. The realization of the project provided ensured a drinking water supply for member municipalities of the two waterworks, optimal system management, sustainable water resource utilization (conservation of 12,000 year old underground waters), and energy savings. The project was completed in April 2009. At a water throughput of 200,000 m³, 115,000 kWh/a of energy is being saved.
