Title: Organization to promote consciousness building regarding traffic
Most people living in industrialized nations today cannot imagine living without an automobile. Even the shortest of distances are traveled by car. To draw attention to this sorry situation, the organization fairkehr [a play on words in German: Verkehr = traffic] has taken on the challenge of creating more space for pedestrians and demanding equal rights for all travelers. Their means of raising consciousness is the Walkhicle, a wooden frame with the size of an automobile and carried by a pedestrian. The user straps on the Walkhicle and goes for a walk. The purpose is do demonstrate how much space and habitat is taken by automobiles, and to facilitate thinking on the part of observers.
