Title: Energy Ship

The Styrian Energy Ship, built to the passive house standard, seeks to motivate visitors toward energy efficiency and to raise consciousness. The structure is surrounded by 300 m² of water that serves as a reservoir for toilets. A heat exchanger transfers heat from warm exhaust air to warm intake air. Energy to heat the building comes from a solar-driven heat pump with five geothermal probes; in the summer the system provides cooling. A nature trail explains the importance of the natural resources air and water. By 2010 visitors will also be able to enjoy an energy theater.
