Title: Solar heat pumps increase output of solar systems
Achieving a noticeable increase in the thermal solar fraction is conventionally possible only via a disproportional increase in collector surface area and in heat storage tank volume. Scheduled for implementation in the fall of 2009, this GSWB project seeks to circumvent this expensive method via the integration of a cost-efficient water/water heat pump in combination with normal collector surface area and tank volume. The project strives to increase the yield and the sustainable utilization of solar systems by integrating heat pumps, ensuring bacteria-free hot water, and reducing energy losses in heat distribution and domestic hot water.
