Title: Tanzania Macrosolar Programme
SolarAid’s Macrosolar project is designed to provide health centres and schools in rural Tanzania with access to clean, renewable energy. Health centres require lighting during evening hours, to support late night child birth and limited minor surgical procedures, to maintain cold storage for vaccines, blood, and medical supplies, to use basic lab equipment and support training. Schools with solar lighting provide students with the opportunity for extra study, increasing chances of pursuing higher education. It also allows the school to run low power appliances such as computers, printers, radios or television; a great benefit to schools and the local community.
