Title: Energy Matters Education Programme
The Energy Matters education programme by the Centre of Sustainable Energy (CSE) for schools was specifically designed to reduce energy use within homes and schools and to raise awareness of the importance of energy conservation in teachers, pupils and parents. Young people can have a profound influence on energy use in their schools and in particular in their families. Therefore it is of great significance to introduce them to energy issues as part of their education and make them recognize their own personal impact on the planet. The Energy Matters project created responsible citizens and played an important role in delivering energy efficiency improvements in the domestic sector. About 100 local authorities across England and Wales were involved in the project, enabling CSE to teach over 18,000 pupils about home energy conservation.
