Title: Electro Chemical degradation of fluorinated surfactants

The fluorinated tensides including the substance PFOS (perfluorooctanesulfonate) are classified as persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic. They are widely used in the electrofinising industry as wetting agents. Because of drag out into the rinses they are transported into the waste water and finally into the environment. Our unique developed electrochemical treatment decomposes the fluorinated compounds to fluoride ion, with up to 99% efficiency. The invented technology is operating as a prototype system at production plant scale. Hence a process is only as good as its process control an analytical quick test was invented at the same time. The fluorinated tensides including the substance PFOS (perfluorooctanesulfonate) are  classified as persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic.
