Title: bioenergy Village
Through the strong commitment of the citizens of Effelter an energy supply concept was developed and implemented in the electricity and heat produced from renewable energy sources in order to make the whole town energy self-sufficient. We have the first Bioenergy village of Upper Franconia developed. By using regionally occurring raw materials, we make ourselves independent of fossil fuels and nuclear power. The CO2-neutral energy sources are climate-friendly, sustainable, renewable and strengthen the local content. The prices may even be defined as the raw material suppliers are also the consumers. A CO2-neutral electricity and heat supply counteracts the greenhouse effect and climate change.
