Title: Sustainable supply of drinking water for two communities in Kenya
One of the biggest problems in Kenya are, as in many countries in the area Subsahra, poverty and inadequate drinking water supply. The majority of the rural population, lack of alternatives must use untreated water for drinking and cooking. In order to allow better opportunities in life, starts the Siemens Foundation, a joint project with the international environmental foundation Global Nature Fund. Using donated water filter systems are to receive a total of over 800 people in two communities near the capital Nairobi, long-term access to clean drinking water. The creation of an economic perspective for the villagers and the dissemination of education and hygiene promotion are further project goals are to achieve the long-term cooperation partner.
