Four students of the Technical College in Salzburg had the task of building a model biogas plant. In order to allow fermentation of the biomass, the substrate must be maintained at a constant temperature of 38 ° C. To achieve this, a photovoltaic system and a thermal panel was established. Of the photovoltaic system electrical energy is fed into a buffer memory and run the pumps in the system. These pumps are used to transport the heated water by thermo-panel to a register of a 300l water heater and from there to our tub where there are heating coils, which work like a wall heater and a heat exchanger. By the solar collector and photovoltaic no external energy is required for this project. Waste disposal and can thus be obtained at the same energy.
