Title: Development of Traditional watermill for the sustainable rural electrification in Sarikhet village, Nepal
Renewable energy has been the only sustainable energy source in the world and esp. in country like Nepal, where vast majority of people have limited energy access except fuel wood and biomass. Among the available renewable energy source, due to the cost and local operational feature, renaissance of indigenous watermills (25,000 in Nepal), for grain grinding and rural electricity generation is an appropriate solution to fulfill the technological, environmental, economic, and social sustainability criteria of the community and the region (Pokhrel, 2008). Therefore following previous success imprints, one improved water mill unit will be installed as model project in Sarikhet village, Nepal.
