In another, far more significant step, the heat supply was completely switched to renewable energy sources. By use waste residue in a biogas plant in a cogeneration and renewable electrical energy is produced. A specific heat consumption for the production is made possible by using a layer of water heat storage. In addition, the plant was connected to the local geothermal district heating system. The project has provided the related fossil CO2 emissions by operating at reduced 75% and 72% energy savings.
