Title: Cajiniquil small wind energy transfer
The Cajiniquil Small Wind Technology Transfer project has provided sustainable power to approximately 100 residents of Cajiniquil, an extremely remote mountain village in central Nicaragua, via a newly installed micro wind/solar hybrid system. Villagers no longer rely on unsafe, unhealthy and expensive kerosene lamps for lighting, and can power small appliances including mobile phones, radios and televisions, improving access to information, education and communication. The project has additionally provided a well and a pump powered by the micro wind system to provide for the first time clean water for drinking, washing and cleaning for each of the homes.
