Title: Conservation Education in Schools Programme

Chipembele has delivered quality conservation education to school aged children and youth since 2001. This Conservation Education in Schools Programme, encouraging the pupil’s own initiatives of tree planting and litter management schemes, are now embraced by the broader community because of the underpinning in conservation and sustainable environmental practices the education programme has provided. The Conservation Education in Schools Programme and Chipembele Rangers Scheme aims to teach and involve pupils in conservation and environmental issues and encourages youth to take responsibility for their environment. The programme seeks to ensure a sustainable environmental and economic future for the South Luangwa Valley.
