Title: Beacon Program
Approximately 1.6 billion people worldwide do not have access to electricity. Koinonia Foundation has teamed up with Pan's Innovative Science and Technology (PiSAT) for an exciting venture that engages women in the energy marketplace. Through its Beacon Program, Koinonia Foundation assists unemployed women as they create small businesses to sell the K-Light, a high-quality solar-powered lantern designed by PiSAT for use in areas lacking access to electricity. These women offer a healthy and sustainable lighting solution to their communities while generating profits to expand their business, support their families, and send their children to school.
