Title: Philippine rural electrification service (PRES)
The Philippine Rural Electrification Service (PRES) project is considered as the largest countryside power projects in the Philippines. A partnership between the governments of the Philippines and France, PRES brings electricity to 18.000 households in the province of Masbate, one of the Philippines' poorest. The project supports the overall rural electrification program of the Department of Energy of providing electricity to all of the country's barangays (villages) by 2009 and 90 percent of all of Filipino households by 2017.
