The aim of the project, building upgrades through energy generated CO2 reductions in the international trade in CO2 certificates is to be supplied. The incentive of the proceeds from the CO2 trading will lead to an increase of previously low rates of conversion of energy into building renovations. After a scientifically monitored pilot project 2006-2008, were analyzed in the reference frame 197 buildings, the project is currently in the emissions trading regulatory approval. In November 2010 the German Emissions Trading Authority has declared their support for the project. In March 2011, the project design documentation was completed and handed over to the TÜV Rheinland for validation. We expect a positive outcome of the approval process in late 2011.
