Title: Opening your eyes to nature

OpEPA is a non-profit, private foundation in Columbia, one of the most bio-diverse countries in the world. The focus group of this educational, awareness-creating project are children between 8 and 14 who are surrounded by the natural wealth of this country and need to recognize their responsibility. Therefore OpEPA’s mission is to foster the children’s involvement in environmental issues, thus reconnecting them with nature and giving them hope and positive options for a sustainable future. This is achieved by engaging the students in an active learning process that uses nature as an environmental classroom. Furthermore, the organization wants to create a national network of young environmental leaders who will be active in local environmental decision-making and so become a driving force of change
